Harness Racing Victoria CEO Matt Isaacs has outlined the head winds, challenges and opportunities in a wide-ranging chat with broadcaster Paul Campbell.
Following Wednesday’s announcement of HRV operational and prizemoney reductions, Isaacs sat with the host of Campbell’s Comments to review the decision and the path ahead.
“I recognise that these decisions are very difficult, it is impacting our participants, who work incredibly hard to put the show on and I’m very sensitive to that,” Isaacs said.
“It’s something that we’ve had significant consideration around for a long period of time. We’ve talked to various different stakeholders throughout the process, whilst none of those stakeholders and none of the kindred bodies are happy about the decision – and nor are we at Harness Racing Victoria – these decisions are made for the future of harness racing in Victoria.”
