The curtain is today pulled back on The Barn, a purpose-built digital space to promote, share and celebrate harness racing’s breeding industry.
Harness Racing Victoria (HRV) has initiated The Barn as part of its website, thetrots.com.au, to bring to the forefront breeding news and views and turn the spotlight on the industry’s valued sector.
HRV CEO Dayle Brown said the site would become the first port of call for the leading stallion announcements, foal prospects, sales stars and track performers.
“I am thrilled that we now have this valuable space at thetrots.com.au that will empower the breeding industry to share its stories with a wide audience, which includes prospective buyers and participants, but also trots fans and punters,” Brown said.
“The breeding industry is an integral part of everything we do and to be able to showcase its members through our website, which has been visited by 2.5 million people in the past year alone, is an outstanding result for the industry.”
The site will feature key messaging and articles by Harness Breeders Victoria (HBV), including its outstanding Breed To Succeed video tutorials.
It will also have the latest news and announcement from breeders and sale operators who partner The Barn, including foundation partners Haras des Trotteurs, Aldebaran Park and the Australian Premier Trotting Sale.
HBV President Nick Hooper said The Barn was a terrific opportunity to share the success and opportunities of breeders, who operate in a challenging and evolving environment.
“It will be great to see the terrific work, big wins and great announcements of the breeding industry celebrated through The Barn,” Mr Hooper said.
“This will be a terrific chance to not only celebrate the highs, but to also share information and education opportunities and to help the wider industry grow and thrive.”
