Plenty in store for Arggghhh after long-awaited victory

The country cup circuit and Inter Dominion series right here in Victoria loom as key targets for the quirky-named Arggghhh after his breakthrough win for new trainer David Miles on Saturday night.

Miles drove the recent stable acquisition to a front-running success in the weekend’s Proud New Sponsor of HRV – Western Ford Pace and admitted there’s some fairly lofty plans with the six-year-old.

Formerly prepared by owner Raymond Woods, Arggghhh has joined Miles’ Monegeeta stables largely due to his facilities being able to assist with the gelding’s significant foot problems.

“There’s still a bit of improvement in him. He’s a roly-poly sort of fella,” Miles, who only recently returned from an overseas holiday, told TrotsVision.

“He was super first-up, trialled really well and the boys have actually freshened him a little bit since his last run. Two weeks between runs has probably helped.

“The key to him is having him sound. His feet are super. Massive wrap to Nathan Monk our farrier who spends a lot of time on him and checks his feet every week.”

Miles likened Arggghhh to a former top pacer of his in Jamieson Steele, who competed in country cups and top end races before his sad passing in July last year.

Arggghhh has now won 10 of 58 career starts for prizemoney in excess of $120,000.
