Women and HEROs to be celebrated in TrotsVision special on Tuesday

A special celebration will be savoured on TrotsVision tomorrow night, with the spotlight turned on International Women’s Day for an 11-race card at Shepparton.

Nikkita Ross, Shannon O’Sullivan and Monique Burnett will present the first all-female TrotsVision panel for the night’s racing, which will feature special celebrations of some of the sport’s trailblazing reinswoman.

The careers of Dianne Davies, Jayne Davies and Debbie Quinlan will all be honoured with videos, while the panellists will also chat with the likes of Donna Castles and Pam Wilson.

Victorian female trailblazers have also been recognised in the card’s race names, which celebrate the occasion with the International Women’s Day 2YO Pace and #BreakTheBias Maiden Pace, but also with races named in honour of Roma Pocock, Helen Head, Elizabeth Clarke, Alice Laidlaw, Kerryn Manning, Pearl Kelly, Dianne Davies and Emma Stewart.

The latter also appears as part of The HRV HERO Show, with Episode 5 to air on TrotsVision at 4.30pm ahead of the Shepparton meeting.

Stewart joins hosts Andrew Bensley and Kima Frenning to share her involvement with the life-after-racing program and talk to four horses her stable has recently retired into the hands of HRV HERO retrainers.

The episode will also celebrate the role standardbreds are playing with the Riding for the Disabled Association of Victoria, profile HRV HERO retrainers Kimberly Humphreys and Rose Stacey of KARH Equestrian and take a close look at former racehorses ready to find their new forever homes.
