Im Ready Jet, winner of the Group 1 $50,000 Aldebaran Park Maori Mile at Bendigo in a fresh lifetime record of 1:55.4, was bred in Victoria but has a full international breeding background.

The mare is by a French stallion from a New Zealand mare and belongs to a family founded in North America.

Bred and raced by Pat Driscoll, of Yabby Dam Farms, the five-year-old was got by Quaker Jet (by Love You), a three-time Group 1 winner in France who is now making an impact at the stud in both Australia and Europe.

Im Ready Set, the dam of Im Ready Jet, was bred in the Canterbury district of NZ and is a daughter of the American bred sire Monarchy. She won 10 races in NZ, Victoria and NSW, earned $69,031 in stakes and took a mile record of 1:56.6 and was a mare of above average ability.

Besides Im Ready Jet, the winner of four Group 1’s to date, Im Ready Set is also the dam of a top-ranking trotter in Imsettogo, the winner of nine races and $119,135, a three-year-old filly by Used To Me and a two-year-old filly by Wishing Stone.

After failing to breed in the next two seasons, Im Ready Set has a positive test to the young Love You horse Classic Connection, a Group winner in France and Germany who is a member of the Haras Des Trotteurs’ sire roster.

There are some notable winners in almost every remove of Im Ready Jet’s family. They include the dual NZ Trotter of the Year Monbet, the Breeders Crown winners Conon Bridge and Hurricane Flyer, Diedre’s Pride, Diedre Don, Destiny Jones, Roydon Whiz and the dual Vicbred champion Aldebaran Eve.

Interestingly, Im Ready Jet is a member of the same family as that which produced the 2017 Maori Mile winner Sunny Ruby.
