After two Blackbookers rewarded followers on Saturday night, the team has found another six that jump in as horses to watch after Tabcorp Park Melton’s meeting at the weekend.

Hes Under Wraps and Yankee Gold caught the eye of form analysts and Trots Life hosts Jason Bonnington and Nikkita Ross on May 14 and just a week later rewarded punters with victory at $11 and $2.70 respectively.

While admitting this week was a little more difficult, Bonnington and Ross did their best to identify runners to follow as part of Monday’s Metrospective show on SEN Track.

R6 N6 Celestial Gossip

JB: There must be a decent race around the corner for him based on this effort. He’s done all the hard yards in frenetic final mile and still been beaten only 1.6m.

R3 N7 Kissmelvis

JB: You don’t need a double-degree in harness racing to recognise how big this bloke went in the second Metro Pace heat. He has two speeds; leading from positive front line draws and charging home off ice cold trips. He’s very good at both.

NR: After having little luck last start, he got a long way back and motored home this week. He has a few weapons and is racing really well so is no doubt one to keep an eye on.

R5 N6 Jilliby Nitro

NR: The gelding sneaks into the Blackbook this week after going back from barrier five and being in an impossible position given the tempo of the race. A quality horse at his best, I liked how he worked home, breaking 27 seconds for his final 400m and in particular his final 100m. I think he could be working his way back to his best.

R5 N1 Rick Reilly

JB: This guy will always need circumstances to suit, but he’s crying out to win right now. All he needs is a quickly-run contest over any trip where he’s close enough to grind home over the top.

R8 N4 Robbie Royale

NR: There’s no easy race for him, but the facts are he was carted back by the tiring Wobelee and lost all momentum before making up a lot of meterage late to run into fourth. That effort gets him a spot in the Blackbook. At the free-for-all level, it’s impossible to declare him, but he is going well enough to keep an eye on.

R10 N5 Sultan Sass

JB: This girl is going far better than her figure form would suggest at present and fought on very well after being assaulted almost throughout in front. She is versatile and it’s hard to believe she won’t find the right race soon enough.
