Bronte Nieuwenburg has done the form for Ballarat’s eight-race card tonight.
R1 – 5.33pm – Ballarattrottingclub.Com.Au Trot – 2200m
8 – Keayang Gypsy
9 – Scar
7 – Ringer Wells
5 – Montana Chevelle
This is a big drop-in class for Keayang Gypsy, coming off a mares trotting FFA last start. Although she galloped during the run, connections would think highly of her for placing in that race. She won her two races prior. She can gallop, so she will be relying on manners and a bit of luck here from the draw. I have great stable respect for the Lees and their trotters. She’s my top pick here.
BACK: 8 Keayang Gypsy – 2 units (win)
R2 – 6.07pm – Radio Ballarat Trot – 2200m
13 – Blackrange Glory
3 – Sunny Majesty
7 – Floating Mountain
9 – Just Abit Dusty
Blackrange Glory is first-up here, but he’s always been a trotter I’ve held in high regard. His win at Ararat earlier this year cemented that respect when he won by over 30 metres. Although the barrier doesn’t look ideal on paper, he should have the space to settle early.
BACK: 13 Blackrange Glory – 3 units (win)
R3 – 6.37pm – Easy Waste Maiden Pace – 1710m
1 – Im The Wild One
9 – Carapaz
7 – Trip To Paris
8 – The Postmaster
R4 – 7.03pm – Interpath Pace – 1710m
5 – Hugo Rocks
7 – Browniesatmidnight
10 – Plains In Heaven
6 – Curyo Gentleman
Hugo Rocks is always a reliable horse that gives his best. His sectional times are consistently strong. He’s second-up here, so he will be returning to peak fitness. If he finds some luck, he’s a solid each-way play.
BACK: 5 Hugo Rocks – 1 unit (win) / 2 units (place)
R5 – 7.29pm – Ferndale Foods Pace – 2200m
8 – Feelingoodfreddie
4 – Wichita Kansas
9 – Where Is Woody
10 – American Alli
Feelingoodfreddie is in career-best form, having sustained long runs to win his last two starts impressively. He will need to navigate the awkward barrier here, but I’m happy to stick with him.
BACK: 8 Feelingoodfreddie – 2 units (win)
R6 – 8.00pm – Woodlands Stud Trot– 1710m
6 – Claudys Hero
4 – Apex
3 – Prohibited Grace
9 – Constant
R7 – 8.30pm – Natures Cargo Pace – 2200m
4 – Really Smartie
6 – Glenline
1 – Caledonian Terra
5 – Too The Max
R8 – 9.00pm –– Hewitt & Whitty Maiden Trot
2 – Hammer
1 – Thelmabella
4 – African Gala
8 – Hestuffenough
No units here as he is too short, but watch first-starter Hammer. Connections rate him highly and he could be a trotter to watch for the future.
