Goodform Gameplan: Albion Park Sat 10th July

MAJORDOIT (1) looks the leader and just needs to get BRIGHT ENERGY (8) to the passing lane with the required momentum for BRIGHT ENERGY to make the closing shot a winning one. With limited pressure drawn off the front, that looks the scenario and that will give BRIGHT ENERGY every hope to run him down. I’m keen to strike early in what is my best of the night.

SUGGESTED BET:  $40 to win BRIGHT ENERGY (8) $3 or better

The front line in this race is oozing with speed and over the flying mile it looks set to be run at a frenetic tempo. That sets it up for a swooper and KASH US BACK (10) looks well placed to be the one to take advantage and drop on them.

SUGGESTED BET: $10 each-way KASH US BACK (10) $6.50 or better

This is one of the toughest races to dissect on the card and also one of the hardest to map. CHAMONIX (1), has been waiting for a good gate so is a contender, VOUCHERS (12) is first up but has trialled sharply for the return, DELIGHTFUL DUDE (4) should appreciate this grade, while ROCK FISHERMAN (13) has the horrid gate off the back of a real eye-catcher last start. Too many variants for any level of confidence here.

SUGGESTED BET: $5 win/$15 place ROCK FISHERMAN (13) $14 or better

The first of the features and this is a cracking mares contest. OUR PRINCESS TIFFANY (1) has a huge class edge on her rivals. She is a millionaire and has great gate speed. But there looks plenty of heat she will need to endure in the run to lead all the way. JERADAS DELIGHT (8) loves working home off the speed and she maps to be either leaders back or three poles. Either position looks a nice each-way play at what looks very enticing odds.

SUGGESTED BET: $20 to win OUR PRINCESS TIFFANY $2.50 or better, $20 place JERADAS DELIGHT (8) $15 or better

Another race with very differing form lines to dissect. WILL THE WIZARD (6) missed the Rising Sun and they might want to make a statement here, but at sub $3, it is not really enticing, neither is gate 7 for ILIKMEBETTOR (7) who is the emergency for The Rising Sun. At the quote from the barriers, the value looks to be with the Ricki Alchin pair of WATTS UP SUNSHINE (2) and CAPTAIN CRUSADER (3). Happy to play each-way around both.

SUGGESTED BET: $5 each way WATTS UP SUNSHINE (2) $12 or better, $5 each way CAPTAIN CRUSADER (3) $15 or better

The exotics will be the flavour for this race as we sit back and watch the King build towards the Blacks A Fake in a fortnight. KING OF SWING (6) stifles the win market as he rightly should and standing him out in trifectas are the way to attack this race.

Wowee. What a race this should be. KRUG (1) holds the key and with Cran Dalgety talking tough during the week, it looks set that the star 3YO will be the one they have to get past. That being the likely map, there looks some value in BLACKSADANCE (8) to run a drum with as much as $4 on offer for the minors. However, despite the gate it is hard to look past EXPENSIVE EGO (9), beaten just once in his past 7, that being when runner-up to KING OF SWING in the Miracle Mile. Anything  over $2.50 looks a bet.

Round Two heats of the DJA Trot Series drop back to the 2138m this week which makes it a tougher ask for PINK GALAHS (9) off the 20m and MAJESTIC SIMON (10) off the 30m but they look the two main players in this heat. GODOFTHUNDER (4) can give some cheek in front and SIR FAHRENHEIT (7) can put himself in the frame.

SUGGESTED BET: $20 to win MAJESTIC SIMON (10) $3.80 or better

Revvin’ up your engine, listen to the howling roar. The unbeaten DANGERZONE (5) looks a very smart juvenile and can remain undefeated with another success here. TEDDY DISCO (1) looms as the biggest danger and lands the gate advantage over DANGERZONE– the only horse that has defeated him to date.

SUGGESTED BET: Staying out here but think DANGERZONE wins again.

I’m keen on the chances of RED CASTLETON (6) in taking this. He could have been much closer in round one with a smoother passage when only 2m away. If they can take the luck out of it, he looks a good play. GOLD CHAIN (8) was something beat in the first-round heats. If she is able to find a clearer passage, she looms large.
