GOODFORM – Ryan’s strategy & Quaddie for Friday night at Melton

Ryan Phelan has done the form for tonight’s 8-race card from Melton.

R1 – 6:04pm – APG Trot – 2240m

4 – Kyvalleyhoneybunny

11 – Heza Gun

8 – Dossier

3 – Ser Patrick

R2 – 6:34pm – Lifestyle Communities Deanside Pace – 1720m

1 – Midnight Desire

2 – Really Smartie

5 – Tex Goes Bang

4 – Treacheroustimes

R3 – 7:03pm – CNC Router Bits – 1720m

9 – Big Rig Saint

8 – Iamawingate

1 – Test Of Fire

10 – Budd Sidewinder

Big Rig Saint has been flying of late, including a strong all-the-way win at Shepparton last start. He now draws the back row but should track through nicely, and with an honest tempo he’ll be powering home late.

BACK: 9 Big Rig Saint– 3 Units (win)

R4 – 7:33pm – Renown Silverware Pace – 2240m

10 – Surfe La Mer

2 – Where Is Woody

9 – The Villain

1 – Lenard Ess

Surfe La Mer is a quality filly resuming well this season and will strip fitter second-up. The draw isn’t kind, but over the longer trip that may be less of a concern – if she gets the right trail into the race, her class can shine late.

BACK: 10 Surfe La Mer – 3 Units (win)

R5 – 8:03pm – Beraldo Coffee Pace – 1720m

5 – Hittheroadjack

6 – Layden

4 – Rock Phone

1 – Mikispur

Hittheroadjack doesn’t win out of turn but finds a much more suitable race here than he’s faced in recent outings. His last victory came in similar conditions from a similar draw, where he sat parked and was tough in good time. A repeat effort sees him right in the finish.

BACK: 5 Hittheroadjack – 2 Units (win)

R6 – 8:33pm – Nevele R Stud Maiden Pace – 1720m

6 – Loan Sailor

9 – Orch

1 – Metro Bliss

8 – Jusjohn

R7 – 9:03pm – Swift Signs Pace – 1720m

5 – Vee Em Gee Macray

3 – Luva Scrap

2 – Jetter Son

4 – Bulldog Khan

Vee Em Gee Macray drops back from much tougher Saturday night company into a winnable race. The map looks tricky with speed drawn inside, but the booking of James Herbertson is a major plus and could be the difference.

BACK: 5 Vee Em Gee Macray – 2 Units (win)

R8 – 9:33pm – Centre State Printing Trot (2nd Heat) – 2240m

2 – Kyvalley Jetstream

4 – Muskee

8 – Desert Assassin

1 – Floating Mountain

QUADDIE (Races 5-8)

1,4,5,6

1,4,6,8,9

2,3,4,5

1,2,3,4,8

$80 = 20%

** A betting unit is typically a percentage of the total bankroll or the amount of money you are willing to risk on a particular bet – for example 1 unit is 10% of your bankroll, therefore with a $100 bankroll 1 unit equals $10.
