Harness Racing Victoria (HRV) has appointed Fiona Mellor to the role of Chief Commercial Officer following a realignment of its commercial, marketing and media activities.

Mellor brings more than 20 years’ experience as an accomplished executive and company director, serving in roles including Executive General Manager at Community Media and Real Estate at Newscorp, Non-Executive Director at Community News in Perth, General Manager at Leader Community Newspapers in Melbourne, and is currently Non-Executive Director at the Australian Prostate Centre.

HRV CEO Dayle Brown welcomed Mellor.

“Fiona is an accomplished Executive General Manager and Non-Executive Director with experience in commercial strategy, digital transformation, business transformation, digital media, sales and marketing,” Brown said.

“She is a dynamic leader, strategically and commercially astute, and has successfully led businesses to deliver sustained growth.

“We warmly welcome her to the harness racing industry in Victoria.”

Mellor said she was looking forward to joining HRV.

“I’m thrilled to be joining Harness Racing Victoria at this exciting time as they experience significant audience and wagering growth,” Mellor said.

“HRV has a clear focus on innovation and engaging audiences both here and abroad as proven with their dedication to premium content through TrotsVision.

“I’m also encouraged by their strategy for growth, their commitment to stakeholders and to communities, but what’s impressed me the most is they place Integrity and Welfare at the centre of everything they do.

“I look forward to supporting Dayle and the team, applying my career experience and contributing to their ongoing performance trajectory.”

Mellor will be responsible for driving HRV’s commercial operations, overseeing the areas of Commercial Partnerships, Wagering, Customer and Marketing, Events, and Community engagement.
