ID22 taking shape after first round of acceptances

Some of the leading fancies are out of Inter Dominion contention after the first round of acceptances were taken for the 2022 series on Monday.

Reigning New Zealand Cup champ Copy That, Western Australian star Magnificent Storm, multiple Group 1 winner Bondi Lockdown and last year’s Cranbourne Pacing Cup winner Supreme Dominator were among those withdrawn from the pacing ranks in recent days, while 2021 trotting grand final winner Maori Law, Kiwi gun Sundees Son, Chris Lang’s emerging top-liner Ollivici (pictured) and Anton Golino’s elite level mare Im Ready Jet are out of the squaregaiting heats.

Second acceptances for both pacing and trotting divisions will be taken on November 18 before final starters are declared ahead of the opening night of qualifiers at Ballarat on November 26.

Shepparton (November 29) and Geelong (December 3) will also host heats before the grand finals are staged at Tabcorp Park Melton on December 10.
