Kilmore meeting tonight to go ahead

Harness Racing Victoria (HRV) advises tonight’s re-scheduled meeting at Kilmore will proceed as planned with the first race at 6.54pm.

HRV has added a Tabcorp Park trials meeting to be held this Thursday.

As precautionary measures a Tabcorp Park Melton meeting was cancelled and a Kilmore meeting postponed following a Tabcorp Park non-racing hospitality staff member testing positive to COVID-19 last week.

“We are comfortable with our process and the steps we’ve taken to thoroughly explore potential close contacts of the staff member who tested positive to COVID-19,” HRV CEO Dayle Brown said.

“Those potential close contacts were immediately tested and self-isolated and we are pleased to report have returned negative tests.

“We are comfortable to proceed racing in the Melbourne and Surrounds region from tonight at Kilmore in the knowledge that no one has been placed at any further risk of COVID-19 infection relating to this case.

“We thank the industry participants for their understanding and patience, and I’d like to take this opportunity to remind all our industry people that your health and wellbeing remains our number one priority. We will not take any risks with this pandemic.”
