Knight Pistol meeting moved to Monday night

The Group 1 Knight Pistol meeting cancelled tonight due to heavy rain at Tabcorp Park Melton has been transferred to Monday night.

Harness Racing Victoria (HRV) moved swiftly following the abandonment of tonight’s meeting to reschedule the 10-race program after discussions with broadcast partner Sky Racing and Tabcorp Park.

Monday’s daytime Yarra Valley meeting will start earlier than planned with Race 1 moving from 1.32pm forward to about 11.50am enabling participants enough travel time to attend both meetings if required.

“While it’s unfortunate to have to reschedule meetings I’m pleased with the prompt response from our racing department this afternoon,” HRV CEO Dayle Brown said.

“Working with Sky Racing the racing department has been able to secure a new timeslot, Monday night, which importantly gives our participants notice and allows them to plan accordingly.”

The first race at Melton on Monday will be scheduled for 5.25pm.

The current fields are to remain as they were with scratchings reinstated. Scratching penalties will not apply. Driver changes will remain open for Yarra Valley and Melton until 11am tomorrow (Saturday).
