The man who has sat behind some of the sport's quickest pacers believes Rishi can launch into rare air and smash through the 1:50 barrier.

Speaking to Trots Vision after his five-year-old Bettors Delight gelding won Saturday night's TAB Multiplier Pace at Tabcorp Park Melton, trainer-driver Lance Justice said bold plans lay in the path of the Kiwi bred.

Having had 17 starts this season for four wins and seven placings, the now M3 classified Rishi could soon be rubbing shoulders with some of the sport's best.

"We are hoping next year we can put him on the country cups circuit," Justice said. "Next year he will be a better horse I think.

"He's getting better and better and really starting to put it together. We haven't got any set plans, we will do a Menangle trip with him when there's a good feature race. I'd love to see him run that track, he's gone 1:53 here (at Melton) so you would think he would break 1:50 at Menangle."
