This market is quite similar to how I saw the race with DIESEL DON (8) clearly the horse to beat but from a slightly awkward draw. JOEYS HANGOVER (3) is main threat however TOTALLY SHATTERED (1) finds a more suitable race and looks to be the overs in the race at $13.
SUGGESTED BET: $5 win x $25 Place on Totally Shattered (1) at $11 or better.
Race 2
Confidence:
Similar to the first, there doesn’t appear to be any juice in this market. In fact, aside from UNION LIZ (1) who is some overs compared to my market, everything else is pretty much in sync so if you’re super keen to play then perhaps the pole marker is the go but otherwise we’ll just stay involved through the Early Quaddie.
SUGGESTED BET: Nothing significant.
Race 3
Confidence:
DAYLIGHT AT DAWN (11) was run down last time but it was a stronger race than this and he was hunting the line prior from back at Shepparton so even from the outside of the second row, he’s a super each-way bet tonight.
SUGGESTED BET: $20 Each Way on Daylight At Dawn (11) at $3.50 or better.
Race 4
Confidence:
I was hopeful ROYAL CHARLOTTE (6) would come up an each-way price here and she has. Back to the front row she should lob a pretty good trip in transit and based on her efforts from second-row draws recently, she’s capable of winning what is a deep but still suitable race.
SUGGESTED BET: $15 Each Way on Royal Charlotte (6) at $4.50 or better.
Race 5
Confidence:
I thought LEONIDAS (8) might come up a price from the draw but to my surprise he is the early favourite over SAN CARLO (10), as good as the latter is, it’s hard to get super involved after the first-up run so I’m inclined to sit back and let this race unfold.
SUGGESTED BET: Nothing significant.
Race 6
Confidence:
BIG JACK HAMMER (7) has been in awesome form and I thought his effort when parking outside Wobelee last time was every bit the confirmation that he’s at the peak of his powers. At better than even money I’m not fussed where he lands after the start I simply think he’s better than his rivals here.
SUGGESTED BET: $35 Win on Big Jack Hammer (7) at $2 or better.
Race 7
Confidence:
REACTOR NOW (10) is well established now and despite the fact he probably meets his stiffest test since his picket fence has commenced, he does look to have the scope to keep winning. GOODBOY COWBOY (11) has the class to run a race and ARTS DASH (4) keeps improving so this becomes a good trifectas race.

I love the way GOBSMACKED (8) has been going about it and even though you could build a case for plenty in Quaddies, he’s a super each-way price in early markets and on a card where we are getting involved quite a bit more than previous weeks, he does look one of the better options.
SUGGESTED BET: $15 Each Way on Gobsmacked (8) at $6.50 or better.
Early Quaddie
There’s a number of different ways we could attack the Early Quaddie tonight but rather than get too tricky and play a heap of staggers, I’m more inclined to simply play the key hopes in every leg and hope we find some value somewhere.
