The Goodform Gameplan: Tabcorp Park Melton Friday 14th August

ELECTROJET (6) is a deserved favourite here but I couldn’t get her as short as the market has. The one ‘overlay’ would be ATEGO TITAN (4) who I was keen to keep safe on spec more than anything else so unless there’s a positive market move it’s probably a race we’d rather be involved in through the Early Quaddie only.

SUGGESTED BET: Nothing significant.

This race looks pretty clear cut with THE DEFIANT (3) the obvious leader and most likely winner and ELLENKATE (9) the only clear threat. In saying that, it’s not a race I’m keen to go all in on but we can play some small trifectas to get involved.

LONG WEEKEND (9) was most unlucky last time and looks a class above most of these on exposed form so at better than even money, he looks the bet to my eye.

SUGGESTED BET: $30 Win on Long Weekend (9) at $2 or better.

POWER OF FAITH (8) was good in defeat last time and the win prior was similarly sound so given I had her on top and she has come up around $8, she looks a lovely each-way bet.

SUGGESTED BET: $20 Each Way on Power Of Faith (8) at $5.50 or better.

THE GOLDEN CROSS (8) brings NSW form into this race and it looks pretty strong on the whole, particularly for what looks a winnable race so even from the awkward draw I had him the horse to beat just in front of BULLYS DELIGHT (9) and then BAO NIEN (3). I’m also pretty confident all three will be in the trifecta so we can play this race aggressively.

The form for this race is pretty well exposed so I don’t see any juice at the top end of the market but KIMMYWHO (4) was better than it may first appear last time and if she can step cleanly, she looks a good each-way play at near double figures.

SUGGESTED BET: $10 Win x $20 Place on Kimmywho (4) at $7 or better.

DONT HOLD BACK (6) is priced up to his recent form including an unlucky run in a similar race this time, I must say I thought BLISSFULL STRIDE (1) would be much shorter but I’m semi-committed to the likely favourite winning so it’s not a race I’m super keen to get involved in.

SUGGESTED BET: Nothing significant.

WILL I ROCKNROLL (8) is the deserved favourite here and the prices are pretty similar to how I saw them so from a punting front we’re going to be sitting on our Quaddies and hope we are alive going into this leg.
