I’m not surprised by the money for RAGNARR (2) here but and despite the fact I had OUR SPORTSCASTER (6) on top, it does look a bit of a murky race with PLAN CE (1) and BYALLA BOY (5) both in contention.

Confidence:
While it’s understandable why STRUVE (7) is so short in the market, he would need to show it again on race day before I’m willing to jump in. I think THE BULL PEN (6) is a progressive type and if he can maintain an advantage early, he looks clearly the one to beat. JACKIERABBIT (3) and HIT THE SKY (2) actually make it a good betting race.

Confidence:
The market quickly adjusted to a mis-priced GEORGIAS PRIDE (3) so essentially all the ‘juice’ has been taken out of the overs in the race. TEETREETOMMY (2) might be the best of the others if you’re keen to dig in to multiples.
SUGGESTED BET: Nothing significant
Race 4
Confidence:
Call it blind loyalty or something else but I just think DEEDENUTO (4) is ready to win and he’s tough enough to be able to go up and eye-ball the leaders if the pace slackens so regardless of how the race is run, he’s the one to punt here.
SUGGESTED BET: $30 Win on Deedenuto (4) @ $3.00 or better
Race 5
Confidence:
The formlines running through RUPERT OF LINCOLN (5) at the minute are semi-irresistible. We do know how good ARDEN VOYAGER (7) is on his night so he remains the most viable threat but JEAN LUC (3) did run home well last time and is a sneaky Quaddie play.
SUGGESTED BET: Nothing significant but if Rupert Of Lincoln gets out past 6/4 then he’s worth punting.
Race 6
Confidence:
MISS MCGONAGALL (3) was a bit stiff to run into Explicit Castle at his best last time but Connor Clarke is likely to send her on to lead here and provided he doesn’t have to spend too much petrol in that endeavor, she is clearly the horse to beat and one of few winning chances. MISS HARTLEY (1) will get the last shot under that scenario and if they do scream along then CAPTAIN BRONZIE (7) has caught the eye at his past two and is the only other winning hope.
SUGGESTED BET: $20 Win on MISS MCGONGALL (3) at $2.20 or better
Race 7
Confidence:
SAMMY SHOWDOWN (5) can likely just do more than his rivals here but that said, EGEE MONEY (4) went into everybody’s black book after the first-up run. I’m willing to side with the former but they should run the exacta with IMPERIAL WHIZ (2) the obvious anchor to round out trifectas.
SUGGESTED BET: Trifecta 5/4/2 for $30 gets 3000%.
Early Quaddie
If we are going to jag some value through the Early Quaddie I suspect it’s the first leg and while it looks eminently ‘gettable’ we won’t be going all out spend-wise.
