Tornado Valley returns to Melton to lead out field

Tornado Valley, one of Australia’s most decorated trotters, is set to make his first racetrack appearance in his life-after-racing career.

The champion trotter will return to Tabcorp Park Melton tomorrow, where he tasted success in seven Group 1 races, to lead out the field in the inaugural Tornado Valley Trot Final (Group 3).

Tornado Valley won 39 races and amassed over $1 million in prizemoney during his racing career under the tutelage of Kate and Andy Gath.

Still in the care of Team Gath and talented young horsewoman Tasmyn Potter, Tornado Valley is thriving in his life after racing.

“I’m very excited,” said Potter, who will ride Tornado Valley at Melton tomorrow night.

“I haven’t been able to fault him so far. This is a big step for him, especially being such a competitive horse, but I have no doubt he will make us all proud.”

The race is headlined by exciting Chris Lang-trained trotter Ollivici, who will face stiff opposition from the likes of All Cashed Up, Nephew Of Sonoko and others looking to build momentum ahead of the 2022 Inter Dominion, a series Tornado Valley won last time it was held in Victoria in 2018.

The Tornado Valley Trot Final is Race 5 at Melton tomorrow, to be run at 8.33pm.
