Vale Kevin Cole

Central Victorian-based hobby trainer/driver Kevin Cole passed away on Thursday, January 16.

His last driving success was with Lucy Has Dreams at Charlton on December 31, 2015 while his last victory as a trainer was with Speculator at Stawell on July 16, 2023.

He also trained Gambler, Scribbles, Brassy’s Idol, Browse and Don’t Mind to multiple victories.

A hobbyist, Kevin was a well-known and respected trainer/driver and horse breaker.

An ardent St Kilda fan, he raced in red, white and black racing silks.

He was married to Mary (deceased) and is survived by his children Joanne, Michael and Brett, with the latter following Kevin into harness racing and is a trainer in his own right.
