Vicbred Super Series ‘postponed indefinitely’

Harness Racing Victoria (HRV) has “postponed indefinitely” the 2020 Vicbred Super Series races.

General Manager of Racing Stephen Bell did not rule out rescheduling the series to later in the season should the COVID-19 situation change.

“The Vicbred Super Series doesn’t fit within our current region-based racing structure and we want to provide our participants with as much notice as possible, so we’ve made the decision to postpone the event,” Bell said.

“We will continue to explore all options and if the opportunity arose to resume racing without borders or restrictions, we would reschedule this important futurity series and provide as much notice as possible so trainers can prepare their horses.”

On March 30 HRV announced it would move to a region-based racing model and suspend the feature race calendar immediately.

Should the 2020 Vicbred Super Series be cancelled at any stage, HRV would then refund this year’s series fee at that point.
