The Goodform Gameplan: Tabcorp Park Melton Friday 31st July

The top pick SUPREME DOMINATOR (7) looks like opening favourite here and given I marked him just into odds-on, it looks like he’s going to start a reasonable price. It’s not a race we want to get heavily involved in due to the barrier and the fact he is first-up but he’s worth a bet.

SUGGESTED BET: $15 Win on Supreme Dominator (7) at $2.50 or better.

RADICAL MAJOR (2) has already seen early support from around $1.70 into two’s on. I saw the race very similarly to the early market. It’s not necessarily a really, really good trifecta race because outside of the second pick, it’s all a little confusing so I’m happy to stay out.

SUGGESTED BET: Nothing Significant.

This isn’t an easy race to get a handle on but I do think SUNDANCER RAINBOW (4) can run a cheeky race here with the right trip so similar to the first on the card, we won’t be spending all our pennies but it does look a nice opportunity to get involved.

SUGGESTED BET: $10 Each Way on Sundancer Rainbow (4) at $5 or better.

The small field and relatively well exposed form means that the market is pretty close to spot on with this race, I had CHARISMA KING (1) the horse to beat from VALLEY OF TERROR (3) but there doesn’t appear heaps of options in terms of getting some bang for our buck here.

SUGGESTED BET: Nothing significant.

Unfortunately, by the time this Game Plan sees the light of day, punters will have sucked all the juice out of the generous $3 about DONT HOLD BACK (9) in early betting. That said, I’m still relatively keen to play this race because I think FORTY THIEVES (6) can improve and run either second or third which gives us the chance to attach trifectas.

9/5,8/6 for $10 gets 500%

9/6/1,2,4 for $9 gets 300%

9/1,2,4/6 for $6 gets 200%

SAHARA TIGER (13) must be the hardest to beat here but all of numbers 1,2,4,8,12 have to be knockout hopes for Quaddie punters. From the draw the $3 about the favourite isn’t overly enticing so we’ll look to stay involved through the Quaddie.

SUGGESTED BET: Nothing significant.

I was quite keen on GLENLEDI BOY (10) to beat ZOLIVER (2) here and the market is offering an incentive to go that way. JUSTICE SERVED (7) is the next best but it’s hard to see anything else winning for exotics.

SUGGESTED BET: Play Glenledi Boy (10) aggressively through Quaddies.

There is no doubt HATCHBACK (3) is the horse to beat here but the price differential between he and CHIEF RUNNINGCLOUD (11) is far too big based on the latter’s win two starts back. Even from the 30-metre handicap, CHIEF RUNNINGCLOUD (11) is a must from a punting front even though he isn’t top pick.
